Program and Fund Development Committee
In 2003, the CCC Board of Directors approved the creation of the Program and Fund Development Committee to serve as a forum for CCC and clinic collaborative funding strategies. The Committee, comprised of Chief Executive Officers and grantwriters from member clinics, meets on a regular basis to discuss upcoming funding opportunities, collaborative projects, and funder relations. The main functions of this Committee are to:
- Prioritize funding needs
- Discuss collaborative opportunities
- Make recommendations for CCC and clinic participation in community-wide grant applications and programs
The CCC identifies a number of collaborative funding opportunities, and brings these projects forward to the Committee to discuss and gauge the interest of participation of individual clinics. If enough clinics are interested in the proposed project, then the CCC will take the lead on the grant application and/or serving as the liaison with community partners to represent clinic needs and priorities.
Fund Development Services to Benefit Member Community Clinics and Health Centers
The CCC writes and submits a number of grant applications each year to support network operations, clinic collaborative projects, and community-wide efforts to improve health outcomes and enhance quality of care. On average, 65-70% of all grant funding received annually by the CCC is passed through to support direct services and operations of member clinics. The remaining funding is maintained by the CCC for common, shared services provided to multiple clinics.
The CCC conducts expensive research to identify new funding sources for clinics, and summarizes viable opportunities in a monthly grants resource packet. As a member benefit, fund development staff at all community health centers receive up-to-date funding opportunities from local, state, and federal sources to support clinic operations, quality improvement, health information technology, disease management, health outreach and education, and other relevant programs.
In addition, the CCC provides technical assistance and a number of other shared services in the area of fund development to member community clinics and health centers. The CCC provides statistical and other informational data as needed on proposals written by clinics; maintains reports and statistical information on patient population demographics, information, payor sources, and other clinic-specific data; and maintains a centralized grant resource library that includes comprehensive files on funder requirements and program areas. The CCC regularly communicates with clinic development staff and grantwriters.
