Sr. Manager, Information Technology

A leading healthcare not-for-profit organization in North San Diego County is seeking a hands-on Sr. Manager of Information Technology with demonstrated leadership ability and managerial expertise in Healthcare Information Systems Management to play a pivotal part in their organization.

Vista Community Clinic is a medical, dental and social services center which serves people who experience social, culture or economic barriers to health care in a comprehensive, high quality setting.  We provide the highest quality services in five different locations throughout Vista and Oceanside.

The person selected for this position will be accountable for all aspects of the organization’s current and developmental information systems and communications network, including fiscal, clinical and administrative applications, voice and data, ensuring an exceptional platform that serves the organization in every aspect. 

 Minimum Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree or high school graduate with equivalent experience plus minimum 5 years experience in computer hardware and software support; minimum 3 years management experience; significant project management experience; valid California driver’s license and vehicle insurance, reliable transportation.

 Preferred Requirements:

Experience in a medical setting; working knowledge of current computer and telephony technologies; experience with VOIP and NextGen systems.

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead Organization in Health Information Exchange
  • Provide staff management and development for Information Technology, Data Management, Electronic Health Records and Practice Management using NextGen system.
  • Provide planning support for organizational budget as well as managing departmental budget
  • Act as Project Team Lead for new technology implementations.
  • Develop relationships with other clinics to share best practices.
  • Work with management and executive staff to determine technology needs
  • Effectively communicate with business entities on technology direction
  • Develop project plans related to specific enterprise systems
  • Communicate timeline, budget, and resource requirements to executive management and staff
  • In consultation with requestors, develop the most efficient way to retrieve and report information.
  • Using report-writing utilities, design new reports for internal and external use.
  • Provide continuous computer training as needed to staff and employees.
  • Perform other duties as required.
