JOB SUMMARY
Your number one goal is to provide “Outstanding Customer Service”. Under the direction of the Dentist, the dental assistant will maintain equipment, materials used, supplies within the working area. Works closely with the Dentist by assisting in-patient care through dental procedures, oral hygiene, restorative, prosthetic and surgical care radiology exams, education and training. Provides sealant application and treatment to patients upon the direction and advice of the dentist.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and Abilities. This person should possess abilities in “Customer Service” communications, both verbally and in writing. Able to perform tasks related to physical activity that include lifting up to 25 lbs., bending, and may have extended times of sitting and standing. Experience working in dental field helpful and preferred. Knowledge and use of clinical/laboratory dental instruments, supplies and equipment. Full proficiency in operating laboratory and dental operatory equipment and/or sterilizers or autoclaves. Able to prioritize and organize. Ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment in demanding situations. Able to perform in an emergency situation. A high standard of professionalism is expected in speech and manner. Fluency in English required. Fluency in Spanish desired.
REQUIRED COMPUTER SKILLS
Operation Samahan utilizes cutting-edge technology in patient information systems. As such, candidate must have basic to intermediate computers skills such as business office automation which include word processing (typing skills at least 45 wpm), spreadsheets, internet, email, phone system) and be able to handle electronic work flow.
